CENTER isn't just another gym.  We also aren't just your local yoga and Pilates studio.  We don't see exercise as one size fits all, and we certainly don't see wellness as a purely physical endeavor.  

Our studio is a haven; a retreat from work even while you "workout".   The energy of our space encourages openness and positivity; it invites freedom and happiness.  Just walk in and feel the tension and stress start to ease.  Stay for an hour, and leave feeling light and free.

Our instructors know movement, they know bodies and they love creativity.  They appreciate that not only has each life unfolded differently, but each and every day is unique.  They are motivators and mentors, innovative and insightful.

Our offerings are diverse because people need adaptability and tomorrow is a different day.  Research is constantly evolving the exercise industry and we make it our priority to stay current and relevant.  

Our community is welcoming and joyful.  We believe in laughter, lightness, curiosity and optimism.  We encourage people to work hard and enjoy life.

OUR CLASSES

GENERAL: yoga, sbt, barre & more...

The majority of our class offerings fall under the "general class" category.  Our schedule remains fairly constant with slight seasonal changes.  

Classes in this category fall under our drop-in rate.  We also have a membership option in this category.  Memberships and drop-in packages can be used at either our Grand Rapids or our Hibbing location interchangeably.

SMALL GROUP: reformer & aerial yoga

These classes use special equipment and are therefore limited in size.  Our small group classes would be considered "semi-private" session: in between a big group class and a personal training session.  For that reason, they require a different package or punch card.  We also require that you cancel these your classes at least 24 hours ahead to avoid being charge for for class.  That will allow us to offer your spot to someone on our wait list.

Classes are for your daily practice and routine but workshops are for deeper discovery.   Our own instructors have a vast base of knowledge that gets concentrated on single topics, but we also pride ourselves on finding and brining in the best our industry has to offer from Fargo, Minneapolis, Duluth and beyond.  

RETREATS

getting away from it all

Let us be your travel concierge when you need more than a few hours to rejuvenate.  Well-thought and well-organized, you will have the option to stay active and learning all day but also the option to have silent down-time to rest and restore in your own way.  Be with wellness-minded individuals, learn and revive.

We currently have 2 annual retreats.  Our Ski & Be Retreat is held at Maplelag Ski Resort in Callaway, MN the last weekend in January.  Our Simply Be Retreat is held locally at Camp Mishawaka on Pokegama Lake in late August for a chance to unplug (device-free) and reconnect.

PERSONAL TRAINING

ONE-ON-ONE TRAINING.  YOGA, PILATES, OR GENERAL FITNESS.

People choose personal training for a wide variety of reasons.  Sometimes they need extra attention due to injury or want better pre / post rehab facilitation.  Sometimes it's because they want to work on alignment or want a workout designed specifically around their goals.  Some people need and want the extra motivation of having to show up or the extra nudge that always comes with a one-on-one session.  Maybe you just want to fit it into the exact days and times that allow you the balance you need in your life.  Or maybe you just want to work out alone.  

But know that you don't NEED a reason.  If personal training is what you want, personal training is what we've got.  Train with one buddy for no extra charge. Inquire about rates for 3+ groups.

THAI BODY WORK

THERAPY FOR THE MUSCLES & THE MIND

Slightly different than a traditional massage, Thai Yoga Bodywork doesn't just focus on the lumps and bumps in the tissues, but also mobilizes the joints and encourages deep breathing and relaxation for the ultimate recovery.   You will feel calmly energized after your session, which we affectionately refer to as "lazy yoga".  You are completely passive as your therapists presses, pulls, twists and stretches your entire being.

NOTE: You will be fully clothed during your session.  Please wear or bring something loose and comfortable.

deep tissue & swedish massage

Just the right touch

Swedish massage, which is a whole-body therapeutic massage designed to relax the muscles and joints. 

Deep tissue massage is best for giving attention to certain painful, stiff "trouble spots" in your body. Using slow, deliberate strokes that focus pressure on layers of muscles, tendons, or other tissues deep under your skin, this massage is less rhythmic than other types of massage, but is extremely therapeutic.
