What Warrior II and Wonder Woman Have in Common
You know it to be true: movement impacts the way you feel. Whether you go on a great ride or take a sweet yoga class, your emotional status is altered from frazzled to refreshed in what seems like the blink of an eye. Now here’s why
: the place in our brain that controls our emotions, the amygdala, is closely related to the place in our brain that controls motion, our cerebellum. Motion and eMotion. Spelling coincidence? Probably not.
So what do Warrior II & Wonder Woman have in common? These poses are strong, expansive, confident power poses. And, by doing them, they literally reduce cortisol (the stress hormone) and increase testosterone (let’s call it the “confidence” hormone). In other word, changing your posture has been proven to change your mood.
