As we spring forward, take a moment to pause and reflect on the motivation behind the move - to conserve energy and use more of what mother nature delivers naturally; the light and life of the natural sunshine.
In yoga, there is a name for this concept; Aparigraha. It is the 5th yama [yamas are the "right living" or ethical rules of living a yogic lifestyle] and it translates to "non-attachment" or "non-greed". Today, spring ahead with the intent to tread more lightly on this earth. Power down. Waste less. Eat consciously. Don’t take more than you absolutely need. Let go of that extra hour with grace and giving; without feeling attached. Lightness on the earth means more freedom in the end.
