Staying Playful

Being playful means being “cheerful, frisky, frolicsome, good-natured, joyous, merry, rollicking, spirited, sprightly [and/or] vivacious.”  Being playful means you do something for the fun of it, not as a means to an end, and definitely with a light-hearted state of mind.  Being playful is different than playing Candy Crush on your iPhone; it is engaging with the world in a way that actively brings a state of pleasure and joy.

BONUS.  Research shows that people who exhibit high levels of playfulness appear to be better at coping with stress, more likely to have healthy and active lifestyles, and more likely to succeed academically (and emotionally).

If you unexpectedly had a day in which all your plans suddenly got dropped; you didn't have to be at work, you couldn't run errands, and all your friends had other plans, what would you choose to do with your free time?

Let's play!  I love adult Snow Days.

Have a Happy Play Day!  Enjoy Sunday.
